Origami: How to fold a Whale

Why don’t you fold a cool and huge whale that lives in the sea?

The sheet of spray looks so cool like summer time, doesn’t it?★

There is the one that you can fold so easily,

so even little kids can fold it by themselves too!

How to fold a Whale   ver1

１．First, fold it in half.

２．Open it up and fold both sides to the middle crease.

３．Fold both outer sides to the middle crease too.

４．Fold the tip behind along the black line.

５．It will be like the picture below.

６．Open the bag part and fold it like the picture below.

７．Do the same thing for the other side too.

８．Fold both sides behind along the black lines.

９．It will be like the picture below.

１０．Fold it in half in a length way.

１１．Fold the middle part to the right along the black line.

１２．Fold the right part behind along the black line.

１３．It will be like the picture below.  And it’s done!

How to fold a Whale   ver2

１．First, fold it in half.

２．Again, fold it in half.

３．Open it up all the way and fold one side to the middle crease.

４．Fold the other side to the crease too.

５．Open the bag part and fold it like the picture below.

６．Fold the part to the opposite (left) side, like the picture below.

７．Fold the part along the middle crease.

８．Turn it over and fold the other side to the middle crease.

９．Fold the other side to the middle crease too.

１０．Fold the bottom part up along the black line.

１１．Fold the left side tip up along the black line.

１２．Turn it over, and fold the left tip behind.

１３．Draw eyes and it’s done!

How to fold a Whale   ver3

１．First, fold it in half.

２．Again, fold it in half.

３．Open it up all the way and fold only one part along the creases.

４．Fold it in half, like the picture below.

５．Fold the left tip up along the black line.

６．Fold the top part down along the black line.

７．It will be like the picture below.

８．Flip it over.

９．Draw eyes, and it’s done!

Any whale can be facing either right or left depending on how you fold,

so fold them freely.

If you use different sizes of origami paper,

they can be parent-child whales too.★

Enjoy various kinds of whales!

Also, if you put them on the drawing paper with glue or tape

and draw some sheets of spray or waves on it with them,

you’ll see more characteristics of the whales.

Fold something suitable for summer and decorate them with the whales,

and you’ll have a wonderful summer for sure. ♪
