Origami How to fold a Tropical-Fish
① Tropical-Fish Ver1
1.Get a sheet of origami paper ready.
Fold it in half three times along the three lines and make three creases.
2. Fold both corners along the black lines. Cut it along the red line.
3. Fold the left side along the line.
4. Open it up and fold it along the line.
5.Fold the bottom part up along the line.
6. Open it and fold it along the line.
7. Fold each side toward the middle crease along the lines.
8. Turn it over.
9. Draw eyes and your favorite patterns, and it’s done!
Here’s an easy tropical-fish!
Even little children can hold it easily if they’re watched by adults when cutting the line with scissors.
What kind of patterns is your child drawing?

② Tropical-Fish Ver.2
1. Get a sheet of origami paper ready.
Fold it in half four times along the lines to make creases.
Fold it in half along one of the creases so it will look a triangle.
2. Fold it along the line. (a valley fold)
3. Put your finger in the area that the arrow is pointing at.
Open it, pulling the paper to your side. Do the same thing for the other side too.
4. Fold both sides (red stars) to the middle along the black lines and make creases.
Fold it the same way along the yellow lines and make creases as well.
5. Put your finger to the red star area and pull it toward the arrow and smash it.
Do the same thing for the other side too.
6. Fold the red star area down.
7. Fold the bottom red star area up to overlap the top red star area.
8. Fold each side so that the red star
and each yellow star will overlap and make creases.
9. After you fold it along the line (crease),
you will see the tip on your side. Put it to the right.
10.Fold the star area down.
11.Turn it over and fold it the same way as you did in the procedure No.8 ~ 10.
12.Fold it along the line toward the arrow.
Turn it over and do the same thing.
Change the direction.
13.Open the red star areas towards each arrow until the area
with a mountain fold becomes the one with a valley fold.
14.Draw eyes and some patterns.
15.And it’s done!
Here’s a three-dimensional tropical-fish
It might be difficult at the beginning but if you can do that part,
you’ll make such a cool tropical-fish!
If you try different patterns, you’ll see various tropical-fish!
③ Tropical-Fish Ver.3
1. Get a sheet of origami paper ready.
Fold it in half twice to make tow creases.
2. Fold it along each read line to the creases,
make creases and put them back.
Fold the bottom corners along the yellow lines.
3.Fold them along the lines. (a valley fold)
4. Fold it along the line toward the arrow. (a valley fold)
5. Fold it along the line toward the arrow.
6.Opening the area where the arrow is pointing at,
fold it along the line (a mountain fold) and put the white part inside.
7. Open the star parts toward each arrow and smash. Turn it over.
8. Fold each side along the lines.
9. Fold each side to the middle line along the red lines.
10.Fold the red area toward each arrow along the lines. Turn it over.
11.Change the direction and draw eyes or patterns!
12.And it’s done!
It’s a plane fish, but it looks like a real one with bi-color pattern on its belly!
If you fold it and draw your favorite patterns with various colored origami paper,
you’ll see your original aquarium that you don’t need to clean!
Since tropical-fish is colorful and beautiful,
try to make colorful ones with various shapes such as plainor three-dimensional.
You can make your own wonderful space!
