① Dolphin Ver1

1.Get a sheet of origami paper ready. Fold it in half along the line.

Fold both sides to the middle line with a red star, like a picture No. 2.

2. Again, fold both sides to the middle line with a red star, like a picture No.3.

3. Open the parts that the arrows are pointing at,

pull the paper out and fold them, like a picture No.4.

4. Fold each part toward the arrow along the lines.

5. Turn it over and fold the left part towards the arrow along the line.

6.Fold each side toward the middle along the lines.

7.Fold it in half along the line.

8. Open the right part a little and put the paper inside along the line.

9. Draw eyes and the dolphin is done!

You can draw a smiling face as well! It’s going to be a cut one.

There’s no hard procedure, even children can fold it easily.

If you adjust the angle when you fold the tail, the dolphin will look differently

 

② Dolphin Ver.2

 

1. Get a sheet of origami paper ready. Fold it in half along the line.

Fold each side toward the middle line with a red star and make creases.

Fold it the same way for the other side and make creases.

2. After you make those creases, open it up.

Make a bag part, pressing it toward the middle along the crease.

Fold the bag parts.

3.Turn it over.

4. Fold the left part to the middle line.

5. Fold it along the line, make a crease and put it back.

6. Fold each corner to the crease that you just made.

7. Fold it along the line.

8. Fold it in half along the line.

9. Fold it along the red line.

10.Fold it along the line and open it, opening the part that the arrow is pointing at.

Fold it so you can make a triangle.

11.To make a fin, open the red line and cut it.

12.Fold each side along the line.

13.Fold the top layer along the red line and turn it over.

14.And it’s done!

This one looks just like a real dolphin with a round head, doesn’t it?

Look at the fin! It looks as if it is energetically jumping!

 

③ Dolphin Ver.3

 

1.Get a sheet of origami paper ready. Fold it in half.

Fold each side to the middle line with a red line and make creases

Fold it for the other side and make creases there too.

2.After you make creases, open it. Make a bag part,

pressing toward the middle along the creases. Then fold it.

3.Cut it along the red line and turn it over.

4. Fold it along the line so that tip will come a little over the middle line.

5. Fold the line ① with a mountain fold and fold the line ② with a valley fold.

Fold it in half along the line ③.

6. Fold it along the black line so that each red line will meet.

Turn it over and fold it the same way for the other side too.

7. Fold it along the line (a mountain fold).

8. Fold only the top layer of the yellow star up.

9. And it’s done!

You need scissors when you make a fin.

Please be very careful when a child(ren) make it.

 

You might have a chance to go to the aquarium in summer vacation.

You can make these origami dolphins before you go!

If you fold them with different sizes of paper,
