Origami: How to fold the Sun

We feel comfortable to stay outside in a warm day under the sunshine, don’t we?★

We all, human, animals and plants, become energetic in sunny days!

Sun must have power to make us happy!♪

Why don’t you make the sun with origami paper?♥

How to fold the Sun Ver.1

We can make the sun with one sheet of origami paper.

Since it’s easy to fold, let’s make it with your child!♪

1. Fold it in half along the dotted lines and make two creases.

2. Fold all corners to the middle along the dotted lines.

3. Fold all corners toward outside along the dotted lines.

4. Fold all corners toward inside along the dotted lines.

5. Fold all corners toward outside along the dotted lines.

6. Turn it over and…

7. it’s done!

We made a round and huge sun!

You can draw a face on it too!

You can pick your favorite color such as red, yellow or orange!♪

How to fold the Sun Ver.2

We need two sheets of origami paper for this one.

The sunshine of this one is stronger than the one of Ver.1!★

1. Fold it in half.

2. Fold it in half again.

3. Open the bag part and fold it to make a square,

as picture No.4 shows.

4. Do the same thing for the other side too.

5. Fold them along the dotted lines and make creases.

6. Open it along the creases.

7. Do the same thing for the other side too.

8. Put only one layer up.

9. Turn it over.

10. Fold the corner down.

11. Then fold it as picture No.12 shows.

12. Fold it the same way for the other side too.

13. Make one more of this.

14. If you make two of this, put them together with glue.

15. And it’s done!

It’s bright, isn’t it?

It’s just like sunshine in summer.

You can also make origami beetles, stag beetles,

and watermelons or shaved ice with this sun!♥

How to fold the Sun Ver.3

We need four sheets of origami paper for this one.

If you use the one 7.5cm × 7.5cm, you can make a handy-size sun!★

1. Divide the origami paper (15cm × 15cm) into four equal parts and cut.

2. Take one and fold it in half.  Make a crease.

3. Fold them along the dotted line to the crease.

4. Fold it in half.

5. Fold it so that the corner

and the part that the arrow is pointing to will meet.

6. This is one of the parts.

7. Make four of these.

8. Put glue to the triangle part and put everything together.

9. And it’s done!

Which sun did you like?
