How to fold a Beetle Ver.1
One of the beetles’ features is huge antennas, right?
We use scissors to make the antennas in this procedure.
Get the scissors ready with you!
1. Fold it in half and make a crease along the dotted line.
2. Fold both sides to the middle crease along the dotted lines.
3. Fold the other side to the middle crease too.
4. Fold it in half along the dotted line.
5. Open it up along the dotted line.
6. Fold both corners behind along the dotted lines.
7. Fold it along the dotted line. (a mountain fold)
8. Fold it in half.
9. Fold it along the dotted line and make a crease.
And fold it as if you cover it, as picture No.10 shows.
10. Cut it along the red line with scissors.
They will be the antennas.
11. After you cut it, fold each antenna toward outside.
12. Draw eyes and it’s done!
How do you like it? It looks strong, doesn’t it?
If you use a brown pen, it will be more like a real beetle.♪
How to fold a Beetle ver.2
This is a procedure that we don’t need scissors.
The shape of the antennas is a little different from Ver.1’s one.
1. Put the colored-side facing up
and fold it in half twice along the dotted lines and make two creases.
2. Fold it along the dotted lines. (a mountain fold)
3. Fold it in half.
4. Fold it to the left side along the dotted line.
5. Fold both corners along the dotted lines. (a mountain fold)
6. Fold the corner behind along the dotted line.
7. Fold it in half along the dotted line.
8. Fold it along the dotted line and make a crease.
And fold it as if you cover it to make antennas as picture No.9 shows.
9. Fold it along the dotted line and make that part inside as picture No.10 shows.
10. Fold the corner inside along the dotted line.
11. Fold it along the dotted line and make a crease.
12. Draw eyes and it’s done!
This looks a cool beetle too, doesn’t it?★
Why don’t you make your original insect cage
and put various origami in it such as beetles, stab beetles, or dragon flies?
It will be so fun.♪
