Origami: How to fold a Bat

Guess what! There are some small bats inhabiting my residential area.
When I first saw them, I thought to myself,
“OMG!!! Some huge butterflies are flying toward me!!!”
Founding out that they were actually ‘bats’, I was so surprised★
So, I’ll try to make those ‘bats’ with origami paper this time!

A bat (cutting-type)
1 First, fold it in half and make a triangle.
Fold it in half again to make another triangle, and then open it all the way.
2 Next, fold it in half to make it rectangular. Fold it in half again to make a square.
3 Expand one of the squares that you just made
and make a triangle along the creases you made in No.1 and No.2.
Turn it over and do the same thing for the other side too (like the picture below).
4 Take the upper part and fold it along the middle line like the picture below.
5 Draw the curved line on the left side.
Cut both of the paper along the line that you just drew.
6 Fold the one triangle on the left side to the right side,
along the middle line, like the picture below.
7 Turn it over. Fold the top triangle on the left side, to the middle line,
like the picture below.
8 Push the one you made in No.7 to the left side like the picture below.
9 Since the top part will be the bat’s head,
fold about 1 inch down like the picture below.
10 Fold the snout part up and down like a staircase and it’s done!
As soon as I finished making this,
I got a little excited since it was exactly the same size as the ones I saw❤
There might be these big sized bats in your area too!
If they were this colorful, I would think they’re pretty though…
Why don’t you have your own fairy tale-world making pretty ‘bats’.♪
A bat (normal-type)
1 First, fold it in half and make a triangle.
2 Fold it in half again to make another triangle.
3 Put it back to No.1 and turn it to the inverted triangle.
Fold the base part down like the picture below.
4 Take one wing and do a mountain fold and a valley fold to the middle line.
Do the same thing for the other wing.
It’ll be a better-looking if you angle it a little bit like the picture below.
5 Fold the upper two cornered parts in the middle and make triangles.
6 Turn it over and fold the bottom parts inside like the picture below.
7 Fold the triangles you made in No.5 down to this side. It’s done!
You can make this bat even without scissors.★
I saw some kids playing with these bats, saying,
“It’s so cool! They’re like airplanes!”
I wonder if they’ll fly well though…?
But it’s all fine since they’re actually enjoying flying them!
It could be dangerous if it hits people, so play with it in a spacious place, ok?.❤
