How to make sushi Ver.1
This is how to make Hoso-maki.
Get two sheets of origami paper ready,
one for seaweed, the other for rice.
It will be just like the size of real sushi.♥
1. We will make the rice part. Get a white-colored sheet of origami paper ready.
(7.5cm×7.5cm)
Fold it in half and make a crease.
2. Fold it in half along the dotted line again. (a valley fold)
3. Fold both corners to the middle, dividing it into three parts, as picture No.4 shows.
4. Fold the bottom part up toward the arrow and make a crease.
5. Open it up all the way. You see the creases of a hexagon in the middle.
Fold them along the dotted lines, using the creases.
6. Put them back and fold the top corner to the blue line,
which is one of the bases of the hexagon. (a valley fold)
7. Fold it along the dotted line, which is one of the bases of the hexagon.
( a valley fold)
8. Fold it the same way for the left side too.
9. Fold the bottom corner up, along the dotted line, to make a triangle.
10. Fold them along the creases, to make a hexagon. (a valley fold)
11. Turn it over.
12. Draw in the middle with a pen and the rice is done!
13. Now, we will make the seaweed part.
Get a black-colored sheet of origami paper ready. (3.25cm×3.25cm)
Fold it in half.
14. Put both edges together with tape, as picture No.15 shows.
15. After you put it with tape, fold it, as picture No.16 shows.
16. Divide it into three equal parts, fold and make creases.
17. Adjust it to make a hexagon shape, along the creases that you made.
Face the separated parts up, and insert the rice part into here.
18. And Hoso-maki is done!
We made “Tekka-maki”, drawing red this time.★
You can also arrange various kinds of sushi, such as “Kappa-maki”,
drawing green or “Nattou-maki”, drawing brown dotted pattern…
How to make sushi Ver.2
Here is how to make “Nigiri-zushi”.
Get a sheet of origami paper ready.
But you can choose the color, depending on what kind of sushi you fold,
such as red for tuna or yellow for egg.♪
1. Fold it in half and make a crease.
Fold both corners to the middle.
And make another crease on the middle, along the blue lines.
3. Fold the bottom part in half to the crease that you made in No.2.
4. Fold the bottom part in half to the crease that you made in No.3 again.
(a valley fold)
5. Fold it, putting both edges together.
6. Make a crease and open it up.
7. Turn it over.
Put the side that is not folded on your side, as picture No.8 shows.
8. Fold the bottom side to the crease that you made in No.2.
9. Fold it to the crease (the one which is closer to your side).
(a valley fold)
10. Fold it in half. (a mountain fold)
11. Fold it along the dotted line. (a valley fold)
12. Make a crease and open it up.
13. Fold it along the dotted lines, like the picture below.
14. Fold only the top layer along the dotted line. (a valley fold)
15. Turn the white part over, and insert the overlapped part into the slit.
16. Fold it down along the dotted line.
17. Insert the overlapped part into the slit.
18. Do the same thing for the other side too.
19. Then insert one edge into the other edge.
20. Put it with tape or glue.
21. Adjust it well, spreading the top part.
It will look good if you make corners on the rice, like the picture below!
22. And it’s done!
If you cut a black sheet of origami paper strip as seaweed
and cover it with egg Nigiri-zushi,it will be just like a real one!
If you cut a black sheet of origami paper wide to make seaweed and cover the rice,
it will be just like “Gunkan-maki”!
