1 How to fold a sailor suit (mini sized one)
【Procedure of how to fold the origami】
1 Turn the origami paper over and fold it in half. (the valley fold)
2 Fold only the top sheet of edge down, at about 1cm’s width,
as picture No.3 shows.
Turn it over and fold it the same way for the side too.
3 Open it up, except the part that you folded in No.2.
4 Next, fold it in half lengthways, so that you can see the white inner part.
5 Fold each side in half.
6 Fold each side in half to outside again.
7 Fold it in half width ways and make a crease.
Fold the top corner about 2cm apart from the middle.
Fold the bottom corner from the middle, as the second picture of No. 8 shows.
8 Once again, fold the top corner to the outside.
But this time leave about 2mm space from the outside.
This part will be the collar of the sailor suit.
This 2mm apart will be the overlapped collar, so be very careful.
Fold it the same way for the other side too.
9 Open it up and adjust both collars to make them look good.
Fold it in half and fold it once more from 2cm apart, like a staircase.
10 Turn it over and fold the collar part at about 3cm.
11 Put the skirt part into the part between the collars and make it fixed.
12 Flip it over, and a cute mini-sized sailor suit is done!
This time, I made it with a solid colored-origami paper;
you can also try it with tartan or dotted patterns too.
They will be even prettier!
2 How to fold a sailor suit (without the skirt)
【Procedure of how to fold the origami】
1 Turn the origami paper over and fold it in half. (the valley fold)
2 Fold it in half again with the valley fold, after you change the direction.
3 Open it up all the way.
4 Face the front side up, and fold the bottom part up to the middle.
5 Fold it the same way for the other side too.
6 Fold it to the middle and make a crease,
like the second picture below.
7 Fold it the same way for the other side too.
After you make creases, put them back.
8 Fold the bottom part up to the crease that you made in No.6 and make a crease.
9 Put them up all the away, and face the white inner side up.
10 Fold the bottom part to the crease that you made in No.8.
11 Turn it over and fold the both sides to the middle.
12 Fold the corner to the outside.
Fold it the same way for the other side too.
13 Turn it over and fold the top part down at about 3cm.
14 Flip it over, and it’s done!
This sailor suit is much easier than the first one,
since it doesn’t have the skirt.★
It’s a good size too.
You can have a different varient
if you put a ribbon on top of the breast too, so give it a try!
3 How to fold a sailor suit (separated type)
【Procedure of how to fold the origami】
1 Turn the origami paper over and fold it in half. (the valley fold)
2 Fold it in half again.
3 Open it up all the way and face the front side up.
4 Fold both sides to the middle crease.
5 Fold each corner diagonally.
6 Turn it over and fold the top part down at about 3cm,
like the picture below.
7 Flip it over and the sailor suit is done!
If the sleeve parts look weird, adjust them well.
8 Now, we will make the skirt.
Face the white inner side up and fold it in half. (the valley fold)
9 Fold it in half again.
10 After you made creases, put them back all the way.
11 Face the front side up and fold the bottom part up to the middle crease.
12 Fold it the same way for the other side too.
13 Fold the corner diagonally from above the middle, like the picture below.
14 Fold it about in half, like the picture below.
15 Put it and the sailor suit together, and it’s done!
If you use the solid-colored origami paper
for the top and tartan-colored one for the skirt,
it will be a pretty sailor suit. Give it a try.♪
