Origami How to fold Minnie Mouse ver.1
1.First, get origami paper as below ready.
1 sheet for a head (I recommend a black one)
1 sheet for a face (I recommend a white one)
2 sheets of 1/4 cut for ears (I recommend black)
1 sheet of 1/4 cut for a ribbon (I recommend red)
First, let’s make a face part!
Fold it in half twice to make two creases along the dotted lines.
2.Fold two sides (top and bottom) to the middle crease, along the dotted lines.
3.Fold both sides to the middle crease along the dotted lines.
4.Fold both corners along the dotted lines (a valley fold)
5.Turn it over.
Fold the tip down along the dotted line so that two ‘〇’ marks can meet each other.
This will be a forehead part.
6.And the head is done!
7.Next, let’s make a face (white)!
Fold it in half and make a crease.
Put it back and fold both sides to the middle crease, along the dotted lines.
8.Fold it in half along the bottom dotted line and make a crease.
Put it back. Fold the top part down along the top dotted line.
9.Turn it over.
Fold it along the dotted line so that both creases can meet each other.
It will be like a staircase.
10.If you can make a staircase like the picture below, turn it over again.
11.Fold both sides to inside along the dotted lines (about 1cm from the edges)
12.When you fold them inside, you will see the back parts at the bottom.
Smash those parts so that you can make two triangles.
And fold the top both corners down along the dotted lines.
13.And the face is done!
14.Let’s put the head and the face that we’ve made so far together!
Insert the face into the head all the way to the arrow.
15.Fold the face part up along the dotted line.
Since the dotted line is not perfectly precise in location,
you can adjust it as you fold this part.
16.You see the face gradually? Then turn it over.
17.Fold both bottom corners up along the dotted lines.
18.Fold the bottom corners up again
so that the face part will be more round in shape.
19.Fold it up along the dotted line again.
20.And the head and face set is done!
21.Next, we will make ears.
Since we will use two sheets of 1/4-size origami paper, cut it to that size beforehand.
First, fold it in half twice to make four squares.
Put it back. Fold all the corners to the middle along the dotted lines.
22.Fold the bottom corner up to the middle along the dotted line,
so that both ‘〇’ marks will meet each other.
23.Next, fold both sides to the middle along the dotted lines and make creases.
24.To make a long pentagon, fold both sides a little along the dotted lines.
Fold the top corner down along the top dotted line to put both ‘〇’ together.
25.Turn it over and the ears are done! Make the same one,
following the procedure No.21 ~ 24.
26.Lastly, we will make a ribbon.
Fold it in half twice to make two creases along the dotted lines.
27.Put it back. Fold both sides (top and down) to the middle crease
and make two creases along the dotted lines.
Fold both sides (right and left) to the middle crease
and make two creases along the dotted lines.
28.Fold both sides to the creases, along the dotted lines.
29.Fold both sides to the middle creases along the dotted lines.
30.Fold both sides to the middle crease along the dotted line again.
31.Fold it in half along the dotted line.
32.It’s getting difficult to fold, since it’s getting small, right?
But this is the last one! Fold it along the dotted line.
33.You did good work! But you still have to go on!
Open the bag part of the corner and fold it to make a triangle.
34.Do the same thing for the other side too.
35.Open both sides.
36.Fold it up along the dotted line.
37.Fold it up the same way for the other side too.
38.Fold both bottom corners up along the dotted lines.
Fold them the same way for the other side too.
39.Holding the part that you didn’t fold in No.38, open it.
40.Open it, smashing the middle knot part.
41.And the ribbon is done!
42.Then put the ears. Put the ‘〇‘ marks to the head/face part with glue.
43.Then put the ribbon too. Draw a face and it’s done!
Origami How to fold Minnie Mouse ver.2
1.First get origami paper ready.
One sheet for a face (I recommend black one),
two sheets of 1/4 cut for ears (I recommend black one)
and one sheet of 1/4 cut for a ribbon (I recommend red one).
To distinguish it from ver.1, I’ll change black to gray, and red to pink.
Now, let’s make a face first.
Fold it in half to make a triangle along the dotted line and make a crease.
Put colored side facing up and do a valley fold.
2.Change the direction by 90 degrees and fold it along the dotted line,
adjusting with the crease.
3.Fold the only one layer of the tip down along the dotted line.
This part will be a forehead, so adjust it well.
4.Turn it over and fold the back tip down too.
Please make sure that you leave the same width of a gray part shown
in the picture No.3.
5.Spread the part that you folded in No.2 and put it back.
Divide it into three equal parts and fold it along the dotted lines.
You can fold from either side.
6.Fold both sides back along the dotted lines,
leaving little margins like the picture below.
7.Fold it along the crease that you put in No.6 (a mountain fold)
8.It’s more like a face now. Next, fold both sides behind along the dotted lines.
9.And the face is done!
10.Next, we will make ears. Get two sheets of 1/4 cut paper ready.
For each paper, fold it in half twice to make a triangle and make creases,
along the dotted lines.
11.Put them back. Fold three corners toward the middle along the dotted lines.
Be careful not to put all the corners to the center.
12.Fold two bottom corners up along the dotted lines.
13.Make the same one, following the procedure No.11 ~ No.12.
14.Lastly, we will make a ribbon.
Fold a 1/4 sheet cut origami paper in half and make a crease.
Put it back. Fold both sides to the middle, along the dotted lines.
15.Fold it in half along the dotted line (a mountain fold).
16.Fold it along the dotted line at about 5mm from the center (a valley fold).
The double the sides of the width that you folded will be the knot’s part.
If you fold it at 5mm, the knot will be 1cm. Fold it the same way for the other side too.
17.Next, fold it to the opposite direction along the dotted line. (a valley fold)
Fold it the same way for the other side too.
18.Open it, putting the crease that you made in No.15 back.
19.Fold both sides to the middle along the dotted lines.
It will be a wide rectangular.
20.Turn it over and you’ll see the knot of the ribbon.
Spread and pull the left top corner, pushing the knot part down.
21.Do the same thing for the other three corners too.
22.Fold all the corners behind along the dotted lines.
23.And the ribbon is done!
24.Put the ears and the ribbon to the face that you just made with glue or tape.
25.Draw a face, and it’s done!
I showed you how to fold Minnie Mouse which is popular among people of all ages.♪
Even though we need 1/4 cut sheet of origami paper, the procedures are different.
You can choose whichever you want!★
If you put Mickey Mouse next to Minnie Mouse, it will look even better, right?
Why don’t you make your original Disney Land
making other origami Disney characters?♥
