Origami: How to fold Drakee (Dragon Quest)

‘Drakee’ is a popular monster appearing in Dragon Quest Series.

It’s a bird-type monster whose ability is low, compared to its high popularity.

Huge wings which it uses when it evades and its smiling mouth are its special features.

Let’s make ‘Drakee’ with origami paper!♪

★Origami 【Dragon Quest】How to fold Drakee Ver.1

【How to fold】

1）Fold it in half twice to make two triangles.

2）Open the bag part and fold it to make a triangle.

Do the same thing for the other side too.

3）Fold both sides to the middle and make creases.

4）Open it up and fold along the creases like when you fold a crane.

5）Fold it down along the dotted line.

6）Fold it the same way for the other side too.

7）Fold the wings parts like the pictures below.  (Both sides)

8）Cut them through the lines with scissors.

9）Fold the middle part up and fold both sides up, opening toward the outside.

10）Fold the bottom part up along the dotted line.  Keep the feet parts up.

11）Fold it down along the dotted line.

12）Fold the tails part along the dotted lines and open the top parts to make triangles.

13）Cut it along the line with scissors.

14）Make horns, twisting them.

15）Turn it over, draw a face and it’s done!

【How to fold】

1）Fold it in half twice to make two squares.

2）Open the bag part and fold it to make a triangle.

Do the same thing for the other side too.

3）Cut it along the line with scissors.

4）Fold the other side to the middle along the dotted line.

Fold it the same way in the back too.

5）Open the folded part to the arrow.

6）Turn it over and open it to the arrow.

7）Fold it down along the dotted line.

8）Fold the face part behind along the dotted line and fold the feet parts up.

9）Draw a face, and it’s done!

A hint to make it cute is to make the face big on both versions.★

Ver.1 is a little complicated but fold each procedure nicely.

When you cut it along the line in Ver.2,

you should have an image of how big you would like the face to be!♪
