Origami: How to fold a Squirrel

How to fold a squirrel Ver.1

We can make even smaller and cuter squirrels with origami paper.

If you draw a stripe patterns on the tail, it will be more realistic!★

1. Fold it in half twice and make two creases along the dotted lines.

2. Fold both sides to the middle crease along the dotted lines.

3. Fold both sides to the middle and make creases along the dotted lines.

4. Fold all the corners along the dotted lines.

5. Open the bag part and fold it as picture No.6 shows.

6. Fold it the same way for the other three parts too.

7. Turn it over.

8. Fold both sides along the dotted lines.

9. Turn it over again.

10. Fold them to make little triangles along the dotted lines.

11. Fold it in half. (a mountain fold)

12. Fold it behind along the dotted line.

13. Change the direction.

14. Fold it along the dotted line and make a crease.

Fold the part along the crease that you just made

as if you cover it as picture No.15 shows.

15. Fold the tip inside along the dotted line, as picture No.16 shows.

16. Fold it inside along the dotted line.

Fold it the same way for the other side too.

17. Draw eyes and the pattern and…

18. it’s done!

19. It can also stand up like this!

You can also let it hold a nut too.

How to fold a squirrel Ver.2

This one is three-dimensional too.

A bigger tail than the Ver.1.★

1. Fold it in half twice and make two creases along the dotted lines.

2. Fold both sides to the middle and make creases along the dotted lines.

3. Fold it the same way for the other side too.

4. After you made four creases, open it all the way.

5. Fold it along the dotted lines (creases), as picture No.6 shows.

6. Fold it the same way for the other side too.

7. Fold it behind along the dotted line.

8. Turn it over and…

9. Fold it along the dotted line.

10. Fold it in half along the dotted line.

11. Fold it along the dotted line and open it toward outside.

12. Open it the same way for the other side too.

13. Pull the corner that is sticking out.

14. Make a strong crease.  This will be a tail.

15. Pull the head part (the part folded inside) out.

16. Make a crease and…

17. Fold it along the dotted line and make a crease.

Fold the part inside as picture No.18 shows.

18. do the same thing for this part as you did in No.17 too.

19. Fold it along the dotted line.

20. Open the bag part from the arrows.

21. Fold it, opening like the picture below.

22. After you made a crease, stand it up and adjust it well.

23. And it’s done!

Of course it will be cuter if you add eyes and the patterns on it.♥
