Origami: How to fold a Peacock

We can see some rare animals such as peacocks

when we go to the zoo.♥

Have you ever seen them spreading their plume?

They always fascinate us with their gorgeous, beautiful plume,

don’t they?

Why don’t you try to make such peacocks

with origami paper?★

Even though you might think it a little difficult to fold since

there are some complicated procedures,

it’s unexpectedly easy. 

Let’s try it out!

１．First, fold it in half.

２．Open it up and fold both sides to the crease.

３．Fold it along the dotted line.

４．Make a crease and put it back.

５．Fold both sides to outside, along the dotted lines.

６．It will be like the picture below.

７．Fold it in half.

８．Fold it and make a crease, like the picture below.

９．Using the crease that you made in picture No.8,

open the green triangle and fold it so that the white part

will be covered with the green triangles, as picture No.11 shows.

１０．Fold the tip in the same way as No.9.

１１．Open the plume, and it’s done!

１．Fold it in half.

２．Open it up and fold both sides to the crease.

３．Fold both sides, along the dotted lines.

４．If you fold it like the picture below, fold them toward the arrows.

５．It will be like the picture below.

６．Open the bag part and fold it like the picture below.

７．Fold it in half.

８．Open the bag part and fold it, like the other side.

９．Fold the one you folded in No.8 to the left, like the picture below.

１０．Fold it like the picture below.

１１．Fold it to the right side, like the picture below.

１２．Fold it like the picture below.

１３．Go back to the No.8.

１４．Fold it along the crease you made.

１５．Fold it to the right, like the picture below.

１６．Fold it the same way for the other side too.

１７．Fold the right side inside, like the picture below.

１８．Fold it the same way again.

１９．Go back to No.17 and fold it inside so that

it will be half the size of what it used to be.

２０．Fold it inside, like the picture below.

２１．Fold the one you folded in No.20 like a staircase.

２２．Fold the leg part so that it turns diagonally to the right.

２３．Fold in the same way for the other side too.

２４．Fold it along the dotted line and fold it

so that it can cover the body part, as picture No.25 shows.

２５．It will be like the picture below.

２６．Adjust it well, and it’s done!

３．Fold both sides to outside, like the picture below.

４．Fold it in half.

５．Fold it along the crease, like the picture below.

６．Fold it in half, along the middle crease.

７．Fold it along the dotted line.

８．If you fold it like the picture below, put it back.

９．Fold it so that it covers the other part, along the crease that you made.

１０．Fold it again so that it covers the other part.

１１．Fold it along the dotted lines, like a staircase.

１２．Fold it the same way for the other side too.

１３．Open the plume and fold the tip behind.

１４．It will be like the picture below.

１５．Adjust it well, and it’s done!

You often have to fold parts so that they cover other parts.♪

If you think it’s difficult,

fold and make a crease beforehand,

which makes it easier!

Also, when you fold the face part,

it will be different, according to the angle.
